Sarma & Co. Photography is described as timeless, tried and true- creating images that are candid, honest, crisp and have energy and emotion. Wedding photos that will leave a lasting impression. We create imagery saturated with true to life color, neutral black and whites and natural skin tones. Our clients are couples who consider their wedding photography one of the most important investments they'll budget for during their planning process. Couples who treasure wedding images that are not chasing photography trends. Our images are not overly edited nor do we use trendy filters. We have no interest in processing techniques that are the latest fad and will quickly be out of date and cheesy wedding photos make us cringe. While we do certainly photograph the pretty details, we are constantly keeping our eyes on the organic moments going on around us and we believe the portraits are important too. We document your wedding day through an unobtrusive, relaxing and genuine approach letting the day unfold naturally.
I am known for my calm demeanor and will put you at ease on your wedding day allowing you to be yourself making the experience of being photographed very enjoyable and stress free. My photography is celebrated for capturing your true personalities on your wedding day reflecting your unique style. Couples are always amazed at all of the special moments that were candidly captured, never noticing the us. Throughout my 19 year editorial and wedding photography career, my work has been published in The Knot NY, The Knot NJ, Brides, Carats and Cake, New York Magazine, Time Out NY, Style Me Pretty, TIAA and T. Rowe Price. I enjoy giving back by donating my art and services to the American Cancer Society and St. Jude's. I also served as the photo editor of the PS29 school newspaper where she spent a few years inspiring and coaching 4th and 5th graders to tell a visual story through photographs to accompany the stories they were reporting on in their school newspaper. In my spare time, I continue to volunteer my photography and videography services to my son's middle school.
On a more personal note, some things I love other than photography:
* My family. I've been married to my husband (who is also a photographer) for 20 years and we have two teenage boys whom we love more than anything.
* Spending time with our extended family.
* My houseplant collection. It's growing fast! (and I might even have an instagram account dedicated to my plants... @photo_synthesis_project.)
* Swimming holes.
* The sound of the ocean and the smell of fresh cut grass.
* Hiking.
* Apple picking.
* The Moth storytelling events.
* Fall weekends upstate.
* Reading printed books.
* Going to museums and outdoor sculpture parks with my kids.
* NPR
* Traveling.
* The morning light in my apartment.
Thank you for spending some of your time here.
