American Cancer Society's 2018 Dance Against Cancer at Lincoln Center
What an honor it was to document this event for the American Cancer Society. They are on a mission to free the world of cancer and this fundraiser was hopefully one step closer to that. The statistics are staggering on the major impact cancer has in the United States and around the world. This was an event where the performers were dancing for a cure or in honor of someone close to them who has passed, as well as survivors close to them- we all know someone who has been affected by cancer. The money raised from the 2018 Dance Against Cancer helps fund research, it supports patients and their families and helps share expert information with anyone going through this or family and friends who know someone who has cancer. The evening featured performances by dancers from the New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Paul Taylor Dance Company and more! As well as Laguardia High School Dance Seniors! Amazing!! The performances were so moving, it brought me to tears - I encourage everyone to be on the look out for next years event and to get tickets!
